Live Music and A Hot Coffee, Small Minimalist Home with Concert Hall by Takeshi Hamada

“Oh, awesome! So Cool!”, and yes indeed it is the coolest Japanese small house in Osaka that has its own mini studio and a concert hall. Designed by Takeshi Hamada, This minimalist small house is located just about 10 minutes from Tennoji Staition, City of Osaka, precisely in Abeno ward district. This house is surrounded with old houses and shops and occupies a very narrow area that is unthinkable to even built a house in an area of 56 m2.

This modern small home was made bright and open, and dramatic effect was put in the mini studio and concert hall. The interesting part is that the concert hall can be used as art gallery during the day. Walls are very well insulated in the first floor which becomes the concert hall, and this is to ensure that when they held a concert the neighbor won’t complain about the noise they make.

7 Tips for Outdoor Rooms and Enjoyment All Summer Long – The House Plan Shop

While you might have found the perfect house plan and built your dream home, you may not be quite sure of how to make use of your backyard. One thing is certain, if you love being outside, you’ll want an outdoor room. Below is a list of tips from The House Plan Shop to help you come up with an outdoor living space that is right for you.

 

1.    Divide your space – If you have a large backyard or even a small one, it is important to divide your space. Determine where you want your outdoor room, what portion of the yard will be for the kids to play and the dog to roam, and where do you plan to have a vegetable or flower garden. (Keep in mind your outdoor room does not necessarily have to be the back porch, deck or patio.) Use archways, hedges, fences, gates and shrubbery to define each of the necessary spaces within your backyard.

Homes of the U.S Founding Fathers: Happy 4th of July

It’s American Independence Day! It’s time for fireworks, picnics, time with family and friends, and time spent in those outdoor spaces you’ve been working on all Spring!

To help celebrate, I thought I’d explore what the homes of the American Founding Fathers looked like. Or, at least I thought I’d find some images of homes that are somehow connected with former British Colonists who sought to carve out an independent nation, which they achieved by July 4, 1776.
