The skin consists of an existing module: the wooden pallet. Held using horizontal hinges, the pallets contract towards the top, allowing privacy or large openings. The modularity of the various palettes creates varied geometries, which are based on use and constantly regenerated. The reappropriation of materials recycles the existing without additional processing, which would cost energy in terms of production and create byproduct pollution.
The real environmental approach consists not in destruction, but in superimposing interventions upon our built heritage.
“Oh, awesome! So Cool!”, and yes indeed it is the coolest Japanese small house in Osaka that has its own mini studio and a concert hall. Designed by Takeshi Hamada, This minimalist small house is located just about 10 minutes from Tennoji Staition, City of Osaka, precisely in Abeno ward district. This house is surrounded with old houses and shops and occupies a very narrow area that is unthinkable to even built a house in an area of 56 m2.
This modern small home was made bright and open, and dramatic effect was put in the mini studio and concert hall. The interesting part is that the concert hall can be used as art gallery during the day. Walls are very well insulated in the first floor which becomes the concert hall, and this is to ensure that when they held a concert the neighbor won’t complain about the noise they make.
Now let’s imagine living in this A House! A coffe

São Paulo-based Fernanda Marques has achieved a residence called Loft 24-7 in São Paulo, Brazil. The residence has a idealistic balance by using “outdoor” elements inside and “indoor” elements outside. Limestone, rough stone, steel, glass, wood paneling and furnishings that speak to the architect’s modernist style, all create a harmonious, seamless environment where you are never quite in and never quite out.
The decor looks like a continuation of the external elements, combining details that recall the country houses together with those of modern housing in a unique style and great taste. Read more…
